Yes, a stable internet connection (either through a network such as Wi-Fi or through your mobile carrier) is required to use Classtime. This applies both to teacher and student devices.
If you have a temporary disconnection, do not close the browser until you reconnect. The progress is locally saved in your internet browser and will be updated once you successfully get your connection back.
